Research within the Tumor Immunology department aims at a better understanding of our immune system using molecular, cell biological and immunological techniques. Our research is centered around dendritic cells, B cells and regulatory T cells which play an important role regulating the immune response. We investigate the interplay between immune and tumor cells within the tumor microenvironment. In addition, we study membrane protein organization at the cell surface of immune cells that is important for signal transduction. An important activity of the department is the translation of basic research into clinical application.
